Saddam Hussein was one of the Palestinian Authority's closest allies. Before and during the war the PA broadcast repeated messages of support of Iraq and hatred of the US. In this PA TV sermon the US is defined as “the foremost enemy of the Muslims” and is compared to Pharaoh. The war is defined as an imperialist US war to steal Iraqi oil.
